First and the last SYF I am going to ever have.

Thanks to all the well wishes from

Friends: Ying Qun, Lekchia, Wee Chern, Khai Shin

Classmates: Yan Zhi, Yan Min, Audrey, Xinwei, Jun Quan, Yan Yin, Yue Kai

All of the Band Members.

Mr Leng, Mr Chiang, Mr Yao

And all others who have wished me luck one way or another.

Very strangely, after the annoucement of the results, I am not really in a jump for joy and cry out loud kind of mood. Yes we really have out done ourselves, we are acknowledged. Yet, where is the sense of achievement?
I see some of the band members crying for joy, jumping high and low with the achievements of the band. I couldn't help but to get high together with them.

Probably because I cannot hear the announcement in the lobby, even though the officials claimed that the announcement can be heard throughout the lobby. All that I can hear is that each school is screaming high and low in the lobby and I can't catch a single thing that they are announcing over the speakers (that is provided they really announced it over the speakers). Suddenly the girls in the band started screaming and I heard something like a gold.. Yeah end of the long awaited results from 11am, to 5pm.

It is actually quite disappointing. I wanted to go into the concert hall intself to get a feel of what it is like to be waiting inside for the announcement of the results. At least I can hear what they are announcing. After the announcement everyone in the lobby just starts cheering for their own school for doing well like getting honours, or even gold. Here is a breakdown of the performance if each individual schools.

Honours: ACJC, VJC, SAJC
Gold: ACSI, MJC, NJC, HCJC, TJC, NYJC, RJC, TP
Silver: JJC, SJC, YJC, PJC, AJC

Heard that we are close to getting honours, but no matter how high the gold is, it is still a gold. Just like your grades will only be revealed in your A level cert, B is B, no one really cares whether you get a high B or low B, and no one really knows except the judges/markers.

Be satisfied with what I have. Yeah, at least, we have proven ourselves that we are a gold band. Our hardwork and dedication since January have paid off. All the night practises, sectionals, individuals, monday to saturday. This award is something that we can proudly say, we have recovered from our previous defeat and our juniors are in for an even more hardwork the next SYF.

This is really far from ending, it has ended for me, but it is just the beginning for my juniors, grand juniors, great grand juniors, ...

3 cheers for HCBand!

Sometimes, you sit down, and you start thinking of the whole event that has happened. It is just like a blink, January till now, time really flies. Even the performance up stage, 15minutes, is just in a matter of seconds. Before I could realise it, it is already near the end of Symphonic. I really have not had the feel for SYF judging, probably too nervous to look at the crowd. I think I must have stared blankly at Leng througout the entire piece, maybe I am trying to give "attitude" to the judges. To think that it is the first and last one I am ever going to have, it is kinda waste not to have fully enjoyed the feeling up stage. It would most probably be very different from a concert. Nonetheless, one more concert to go, I am definitely going to enjoy every moment of the preparation, upstage, and the applause.

After the whole SYF, the band went to Marina Square for an outing. However, handling such a big crowd is really not easy and so many people have difference preferences. It must have tired out the MWOs but in the end most of the band members settled down in Yoshinoya for a dinner, before breaking up into own section outings.

The percussion decided to go for Häagen-Dazs since Jie Han said he wanted to eat ice cream, but we didn't know that he only want a scoop of the ice cream, we went into the shop and sat down, only to realise that all the prices are godly. Haha.. crapped inside the restaurant deciding what to eat and whether or not to call for help.. Luckily our grand senior, yihui, came and give us a treat to the fondue. haha it is very nice =P thanks yihui. Haha..

Talked a while for inside the restaurant before going back to marina square where most of the band members are relaxing, engaging in sectional/cross-sectional talks. Stayed a while, then went home with Bangky.

So much about band, band SYF. So much I want to say, but I think it is time to move on. Move on to concert, and piling homework...
