Ya for the first time ever in my life, my schedule is packed. Never had a proper CCA since secondary school. I am contented with what I have now.
How hard is it to be actually be contented with what you have now.
It really struck me when one can actually be so discontent with life. We want this and we want that in life. We have endless greed, so much so that we want to have anything just by a snap of our fingers.
I bet this must be the reason why economists say mild inflation is good for the economy. People are constantly seeking for pay rise, so they work a little harder than usual so they get the pay rise. People feel good with the pay rise, because they thought they have more money to spend on goods and services. Nonetheless, because of all these pay rise, it leads to inflation. But this inflation is good, people feel shuang after the pay rise because they thought they have more money. This "feel good" sensation spurs the economy, people are constantly trying to do better to get a pay rise. But if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, inflation has caused the actual purchasing power of your rise in income less than what you expect it to have been. The ultimate result: nothing much has changed.
Nonetheless, being dissatisfied with what one has actually spurs the economy.
And why are we not able to be satisfied with our lives? The reason behind it is because we are perpectually thinking about the future instead of now. When you are eating lunch, you will start thinking what will be the dinner tonight. When you start doing your homework now, you will start to worry you don't have enough time to sleep. When you are in lecture, you start thinking what to do in your free afternoon. When one weekend ends, you will start to look forward to the next weekend. The weekdays are nothing but fillers to your next weekend.
When is the last time you actually do something till you look at the time and exclaim "wah it is so late already?"
That is exactly when you are enjoying every single moment of the elapsed time.
Did you watch the movie "Click"? If you did not, I strongly encourage you to catch this movie. It depicts exactly how one, who is constantly not contented with his life, tries to fastforward all the boring parts of their life, until he has lost the true meaning of life.
Tune back your clock, stop fastforwarding your life. Be contented what you have now, and stop predicting your future. What you do now will impact what happens later.

Do you believe in fate? Or are you the one who thinks you can be the master of your own destiny.
I believe in pre-destined fate, as well as having control over my own future. We have absolute control over our choices, ranging from time to wake up in the morning for school, what food you want to eat in the canteen, to choosing what to do afterschool, and decide whether or not to do your work when you reach home.
Each and every single decision you make will change the outcome of the future. The future possibilities are endless, it all depends on what you decide to do now. Life is like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The part that you have pieced together, is your past. Those left in the box, is your future, and the piece you holding in your hand now, is your present, your choice. It will change the overall outlook of the whole puzzle each time you piece it differently.
However, you are not going to be the only one piecing the whole huge jigsaw together. You have your family, you have your friends, you are interacting with so many other people around you that, you are no longer influential to the outcome of the final puzzle. Each of the people around you have a piece in their hand, they will mold your future, and this will be your fate. You have no control over what influence they have over your puzzle. The decision lies in their hands, you have no choice but to accept what is given to you.
Do you think you can really be the master of your own destiny? Yes, if you are living in a world that has you, you and you.

Yeah.. Long time no blog.
Been more than a week since the last blog post. As usual, J2 life seems to be like J1 still, maybe the urge to start doing something hasn't reached me, but it has better start coming to me soon..
Yesterday the band had rehearsal at SCH(Singapore Conference Hall), we have been rehearsing in sch, duh. It was a merely 1.5hr of sound testing and recording but carrying the instruments here and there simply tires most of the percussionists out. There are definitely, some casualities in the progress of transportation.
1. The vibraphone is officially retired
2. There is two dents on the drumset hi-hat
3. The bass drum suffered, yet another crash on the floor
4. The resonating metal below the xylophone came off
Oh yes, before band yesterday some of us (Ai Wen, Ying Chern, Yumin, See Wah, Kia Meng, Meng hon, Jassalyn, Jun Wei, Yi Xi, Yihuang) went to westmall pastamania to celebrate the belated birthdays for Ai Wen Ying Chern and Yumin. Been a long time since I really get to talk to them on a "out-of-school" basis. It was fun, full of laughter, and joy.
I don't know if it just me, but I noticed some of us seems really down and tired out by the school life. I understand that they are spending much time with their own friends, their good friends, their very good friends, their families. Each person only has 24 hour, and it is really difficult to make everyone around you feel that they are not neglected and they are still concerned about you.
These are the people around you that are truly your friends, friends that will show care and concern for you. Be really fortunate to have anyone that takes care of you, even a very normal "Hi, how are you?" can be very meaningful to some.
It may seem so on-the-surface, but in reality, everyone only has 24 hours a day. Especially when you have many friends around you, hi-bye situations are actually very common.
Really close friends, are those who you can talk and chat as freely as you want, anything under the sun, irregardless how long you have not talked to him.
True friendship will withstand the erosion of time. Superficial relations are bound to be forgotten in a matter of time.
