Wee! I feel so shuang sleeping until 10+ today.. haha, but kinda guilty when the other band members are trying their best to play their instruments in 100% accurate tune.. Percussion is slack in comparison XD

Luckily this week, week 7, is short. I was practically falling asleep during wed's band prac, and killer thursday drained all of my remaining energy + CNY festive mood. Was kinda dead on friday and there was H3 lecture in the afternoon. Heard that there is gonna be holiday make up lessons, not just 1 but maybe a few sessions. Sian la! gonna prepare for the lecture test soon.. week 10, so fast la, Term 1 is gonna be over le =(

block tests.. zzz, GP.. boo.. econs.. ahh.. oh well

tml's mum's bday, i think i shall just cook dinner for her tomorrow.. dad is leaving tomorrow too.. holiday's over, he has to get back to work too.. ya I should be getting started too, still don't have the mood to really start.. but its gonna be week 8 soon! Better start soon!

Oh ya, yesterday's bt is crazy, never attained max speed when dling before. 10mins and it is done, haha, damn zai ;p watched the 3rd episode.. kinda sad that it is progressing very slowly, and I dont really like the way that cut scenes.. very anticlimax.. haha, I think I read this part in manga before le... and i think its very long ago, means that anime is really lagging behind by a lot la! then was talking to sherman about it.. he like read the manga + watch the anime.. isn't that a bit spoiler liao =/ and manga is still coming out? So am I suppose to anticipate anther 200+ episode for shippuuden? hahaha, well that would really take another 3 years or something..

bleach is nice now, think the storyline is gonna end soon.. oh well, but I think it is still a long way to go, this is probably the last big thing that is gonna happen in bleach. I don't really know since I dont read the manga =P I prefer actions and colours.. yeah these two are the animes I am watching now.

Finally after waiting so long.. 220 episode of Naruto, after spending 91hrs and 40 mins..( each episode is about 25mins), now its the time for Naruto Shippuuden! =D just take it like the characters in the anime is fast forward 2 and half year. Everyone grew up! (duh) sakura is cuter now :P naruto is cool now, comparing to the dumb kid previously :P The first double episode rocks.. hehe, even though with the long introduction and prelude, the feeling of being 'nostalgic' about what happened in the previous season is actually quite.. exhilarating? Like you have been through with this anime for so long.. something like watching them grow? haha, ya if you are one of the naruto fans like me you should know how I feel.. :P fillers all the way almost after the fight between Sasuke and Naruto.. which is like 100 episodes ago, now it is all over (hopefully) and this season should be nicer and more exciting than the previous one. heh, cant wait to watch the cool skills they have :P

Just realised that today is the last day of our CNY holidays.. gone like a wind! Slacked the whole break through.. but at least I had fun playing with my cousins.. get ang baos.. but din go anywhere else la.. stayed at home everyday, to accompany my parents, uncles and aunties and my grandparents. The house is crowded everyday :P even the computer room is used for my grandparents to sleep in. Squeezed with my brother in a single bed to sleep. They have left already.. though.. sadly.. its gonna be back to the boring school days pretty soon. Yup and the A levels. Rarr, buck up buck up! don't let it destroy the festive mood. heh =)

Alright, gotta do somemore cleaning up and packing now. Tata guys, Happy Chinese New Year everyone, good luck and work hard in the year of Pig, pigs are smart =)

Finally its the CNY holiday. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

Why so short =(

Father came back yesterday, today maternal grandparents are coming over singapore today. Tomorrow my mother's brother is coming over too. hehe, gonna be very re nao in this small house again..

Its really been a long time since the whole relative get together during CNY. I used to remember how crazy it was, though I was small.

Yesterday was the CNY celebrations, it was ok.. din get really high except during the mass dance.. was too tired to get high before that. The dances by chinese dance and performance by Wu Shu is really nice.. =D after that went out with the junior class.. Even though it is initiated by yanmin, surprisingly there are more juniors who turned up than the seniors. There are only like less than 10 of our classmates? some people ponned the CNY.. some went out with their own friends and some just disappeared out of nowhere..

the juniors went to watch movie while the seniors (us) separates in the end. Only left me audrey junquan and yanmin eating at Sakae. Yanmin joined us later at 3+ while the 3 of us spent our time in PS until 3pm. It was so warm inside the Sakae! junquan is like going to perspire in that aircon room.. We practically sat there from 3-6pm.. haha, and I think we were very unglam there.. and realised how spastic everyone is.. got very high at the restaurant.. hopefully we did not bring a shame to the sch coz we are wearing the sch uniform =x went home after that.. too tired to go anywhere else and its getting late..

Went out today for a shopping spree =) yeah thanks to the angel mortal game for those who dont have partners, friendship day, otherwise, Valentines day.

Or you can call 14 Feb the fire drill day and the x country day. So eventful.. -_-

Though today lesson ended at 1pm, there was extra lessons from 2-3 today. Don't know why today damn hot la.. like steaming in B201.. then it was so noisy outside.. dont know whether should open or close the windows. haha.. but we endured through the lesson in the end la.. then stayed back a while.. asked junquan to g0 PS with me first since his friends end lesson later.. walked around and see if there is anything nice to buy.. couldn't really walk a lot since his friends are coming. haha, left PS at 5+, at first wanted to go Taka and see first.. maybe buy the Royce chocolate.. but save my wallet from burning too big! haha, went back carrefour to see what I can buy.. high class looking but quite cheap chocolates =X

Ya then that is when I met Khai Boon and Earnest. Haha, was quite xia dao coz Earnest just suddenly zham me on the back. Din know they were here shopping too. Oh ya, and I thought I saw Earnest in his car on the bus this morning.. thought its just an imagination or someone who looked like him. It is really him -_- anyway, lagged in PS with them from 5-7.. haha, been fun walking with them, Earnest is very friendly.. Khaiboon also.. haha, seen the other side of them (other than in band) oh ya oh ya, cannot forget about Mark (?) he is our SC. haha, din know that until he left.. asked Earnest and he told me -_- haha, funny people :P

Came back home with lots of plastic bags.. thought gonna get a good nag from mother when she saw all the stuffs i bought. Then to my surprise.. she is not at home when I got home! haha, apparently she went to talk to neighbour.. just nice I come back at that time.. so she din see them :P they are all under my desk now.. but i think i better pack them soon.. else she will see it soon and I can't spare my ear from further devastation (so scary meh?)

Tiring day, haha.. wish wednesday is here soon :P cant wait to get my presents :P

Finally it is a Friday. I am totally drained..

Tomorrow can finally sleep the hell out of myself.. been so tired, for no apparent reason. It must be the 2.4km trial run on wednesday, along with the boring talk compulsory for all chem H3 students, and the band prac that follows that makes wednesday damn long.

and thursdays are brain cell killer days

3 tutorials + 2 lectures + 1 gp essay = brain dead

Ya and sectionals after that, sectionals is not so bad, better than sitting somemore in the classroom.

But it really leaves me drained even more when I reached home. Pia my DE and slept at 1030.

Then today is fortunately, a short day. But I just slacked GP away, dont even bother to listen to her.. bah.. then maths lecture.. we are eating marshmallows blatantly behind the LT. hahaha

Finally now I am back home, resting and blogging =)

But I seriously don't know if I can really rest.. it is not really about how much I need to sleep, but rather, taking a break from all these hectic lifestyles. I am really looking forward to CNY break to really break away from all the rushing of homework and assignments for a while.

Think again, tests are coming, SYF is coming, blocks are coming. How effective is this CNY break gonna be, as a break to relax ourselves?

This year like a marathon, it is long and exhausting. Nevertheless, we will all perservere through, and becoming the winner of our own race.

It is already 5pm, but everything it is still in a mess, the table is in a mess, everything seems so disorganised, no matter how hard I tried to make my room tidy. It feels as though I am lost in this room.

We are so bothered about failing tests, examinations, not doing up to our own expectations, parents' expectations, teachers' expectations, even the society's expectations.

Everyone seems so obsessed with grades that it seems to be the only thing that matters now.

Where is the slight sense of fun, joy in school? Even the J1s are mugging like crazy now.

I think I am really fortunate, my friends around me are not so hardcore muggers that there is no room to breath. I really cannot survive in a place where the atomosphere is so tense and pressurising.

I seriously cannot, I had enough of it when I first came Singapore.

Brother wants to go out with his friends today, I told him, go out and play as much as you want, play to his heart's content.

He won't be coming back for dinner tonight, neither did he have lunch in the afternoon.

He had his fun, he returns home happily, with a wide grin. It is way better than if I call him back and force him to have dinner with me. He would be grumpy and paranoid the whole night. He probably would not even want to help out with the house chores.

This way, everyone is happy. He is happy that he had his fun, I am happy that there is someone helping me with the chores.

In many cases teachers fail to see this.

They drive us so hard, they push us so hard, until we detest doing tutorials, until we find the lessons boring. The teachers have a hard time pushing us, we had a hard time resisting them.

Isn't there just a better way out?

Why are the teachers working so hard to push us? What is the rationale?

Is it really for the benefit of our future? Or..

To meet the expectation of the Singapore Society.

We work so hard because we cannot let our school lose face, we cannot let our parents lose face, we cannot lose face to the other peers who are performing better than us.

We work so hard because we cannot let Singapore down.

The society expects us to be the elites amongst the whole student population in singapore, the society expects us to do whatever they want us to do. What they say is always right, we can do nothing except to comply and swallow our sorrows.


Anyone can get full marks in exams if they study hard enough, but no one scores full marks when it comes to intangible part of a human life, the emotions, the charisma, the mind, the "aura", even if they study harder than anyone else on Earth.

That is what makes a person outstanding above all others.

I don't wanna be close friends with someone who only know how to study, regurgitating facts from the texts. In fact, one who has a mind that is different from all others, will be the one we would seek.

I believe in my ability to see potentials in people. I really do, but up to now, I see no potential in myself. No, not yet.

But I see a lot of potential in my friends, potential to be leaders of major corporations next time, potential to bring happiness to everyone.

Potential to succeed in life.

Today is sunday already.. Did not do anything.. yet.. boo

Friday and Saturday were really some crazy days.. If my mother were to be in Singapore, I would not have been able to stay out till like 11pm and reaching home at 1130.

And my bro has been nice and took care of himself while I was away =)

Anyway, let me record down the events past 2 days.

Friday was STJ, at Seoul Garden Marina Square. Since our class dismisses at 12noon, and the junior class only get to leave school after 4, some of us went down early so that we can enjoy the student price of 10.99++ in the afternoon. The trainee told us we could reserve seats beforehand and wait for the rest to come later.

However, after I finish my lessons at 530pm, xinyi told me that there is some problems with the venue. The manager told us a complete different story from the trainee, and we have to pay 10 dollars extra each person after the juniors pay a nominal fee of 5 bucks. Yan Yin saved the day and argued her way through. Finally we got the price of net 18 bucks per person in the end. Still higher than what we have thought to be, but definitely much cheaper than if we have actually go by the adult price.

Everyone set off at 6++, the bus took damn long, and the bus is damn packed. We waited like 20 or 30mins for a full 171 and 174? Everyone is like damn sianed and lethargic when another 171 finally came. Took a while to get to marina square. Reached there like 8pm? Yeah cooked, eat, talked with the juniors. Haha, damn fun to fake angel and mortal and we have like the whole class faking each other's angel and mortal. Ya but after much turmoil and discussion, my mortal knows who I am for sure already =(

and one of her classmate leaked out the identity of my angel. Or rather, my adopted angel.

I know who is my real angel too, she din write to me at all la =( but luckily the angel who adoped me rocks, haha, because her original mortal is Lu Yang and he did not write at all la.. haha =P thanks lu yang =D

Ya stayed there until like 10.. they are closing le so we came out.. stayed around the area outside the seoul garden to chit chat, in small groups.. then some went to play pool.. while others (and me) went home. talked to my angel and adopted angel on the way home. yeah all just so nice on the same direction.

Reach home, almost 12. bathed slacked and slept at 1. (and my bro is still awake).

Saturday, 3rd Feb, was the Band orientation 2007. I missed the 2006 one, for some reason that is still unknown to me now (or I have forgotten). The orientation is held in the afternoon since morning there is band prac.. Morning band prac was quite.. boring for the percussion since they are doing most of the fixing with the other wind instruments, we slacked almost till about 12noon. Ai Wen Si Yao did not come for the prac coz of Artemis CIP. Finally the prac ended at 130.. we are given 1hr 15mins to pack our stuffs and eat and make ourselves appear at college band room at 245.

The percussion section appeared at the college band room at 345. Nice.. Went to eat at pizza hut, brought back a belated bday present for Wee Liang (spelling?). the 108 bucks slice of pizza.. haha, i think our section guys ( and Andrea!) are like the bottomless pit.. 6 people (and practically only 5 people eating), we ordered 2 large pan crust and 1 stuff crust.. 10 drumlets and fries. Expensive la... but at least we get to eat to our stomache's content. but wasted some of our band mate's time la.. oops.. hehe..

Ya and it is time for the amazing race! Everyone who turned up is split randomly into groups of 6 or 7. Our group has Jessalynn. Kia Meng, Da Xian, Chun Yuan (finally rmb her name, but spelling-wise..) and our bday boy on friday, Wee Liang. Haha, and the band orientation day happens to be Da Xian's Bday too!

Ya so the 6 of us, with the first clue of an green apple that writes 1/谢谢. I think this clue ver lame la.. Basement of CK Tengs (thanks). Everyone in the different groups cheong to the bus stop hoping that they would reach Orchard first. So what if you are there first? :P the first to reach the desination is the winner mah :P

The bus ride was long.. and crowded. so fast forward! (bzzz !$#!$)

Task for the first stop is to buy a cup of sugarcane juice and a cup of soya bean, mix them together, and get a stranger to take a sip (plus taking a photo). Haha, KiaM damn on la, approached a group of girls.. but apparently they are too shy to help us.. haha, I thought we could have better chance if we approach AngMohs who are more enthu ones.. in the end we settled for an Auntie selling groceries.. we asked her to drink in exchange of buying something from her store.. haha, ya the auntie ROX! hahaha, that put us pretty much into the leading position and we got our next clue!

haha, quite easy la.. pass is 45 marks.. so 44 is.. subpass lor! then link to underpass. Yeah got it quickly. Did our second task.. which is suppose to dance across the underpass. Ok so we join forces with ivan's group and we dance (or walked?) through the underpass.. haha, can't help but to attract alot of attention from the walking passerby.

Yeah, station number 2 completed. So next up.. ahh cant find the Marché logo.. but it would never appear to me that milking cow thinggie is referring to Marché.. haha, but Wee Liang got it quickly, gave us an advantage again! but on our way to Heeren, saw Shueli's group in front of us. Tried to sneak past them and cheong in front.. but we ended up racing to reach Heeren. Run from taka to heeren.. Task number 3.. there is a cow in front of the heeren building.. So we are supposed to pretend to be milking the cow model.. and shout:

"Can you tell me why there is no milk?"

LOL. at least do in group not so paiseh, =P

Our next clue is.. 7 boys in purple and 11 girls in red. (ok la I am colour blind.. cannot differentiate purple from blue) Easy to guess it is 7-11.. took a while to figure out it is at Dhoby Ghaut MRT. Coz of the Purple and Red MRT line. Yeah so cheong all the way to Dhoby Ghaut MRT. quite a long distance to run, went past Istana (we are supposed to do a task here, but blur Jess forgot..) Reach the 7-11.. and remember the green apple we are given? We are supposed to use it to measure the width of the shop, in apple units. Of course we won't bend down and measure one apple by one apple la.. just use shoes to measure.. and we came up with an answer.. 50 apple units! If you don't believe go and try yourself next time :P

and we took a photo with the shopkeeper (another auntie!) haha, ya aunties rocks =P

And this is where we detour back to Istana and.. we need to act as if we are playing our instruments and march across Istana. I can feel the glare from the Guard house.. as if they are coming to chase us away at any time.. Saw shueli's group coming also.. and I think jacklyn's group too! Haha, we got damn scared, so like right after that cheong to the next station, and the next clue is.

This one we took very long to figure it out.. while following the other group.. we tried to think of the answer. Its like they also duno the answer so we are just following each other. and Eureka! THe answer is City Hall MRT! We just cheong forward and leave the group following us behind.. haha, even Jay-walked. Run, cheonged, just to be the first to reach City Hall.

To our dismay, jacklyn's group is already there (I wonder how they did it.. they were behind us all the way) Nonetheless, at City Hall MRT, we need to take out our shoe, and hold it as if we are using the shoe as the handphone and talk. Wahlao, damn paiseh la, imagine if I walk in City Link and a whole group of teenagers start talking on the "shoe". I think they will need to go woodbridge for mental check up already la.. haha, slippers not so bad lor.. at least not so big.. and smelly? hahahaha, not that my shoes very smelly la.. but ya we just cheong forward while jess tries to take our embarrassing photos. Yeah, finally get it over and done with, next clue is:

KiaM see the clue once and he says it is Marina Square... so din even get to really see the clue.. lol, we are like very rush after that, run all the way to marina.. coz jac's group is behind.. It is at the Times bookshop.. and we are suppose to form the word "Band" in front of the bookshop. Ya this one not so bad.. haha, quite fun actually.. :p

The last clue is a mangosteen. Didn't know that mangosteen is the queen of the fruits.. so what if mangosteen and durian mate? =X haha, ya since it is the last stop, we ran all the way.. Good way to train 2.4km la.. sweating like crap and i think I am damn smelly.. bah, so the last task at esplanade is to.. find Ying Chern and Yumin. This is like very time consuming.. for all we know they are at a romantic place.. we searhed places like the roof top, library, fire exits.. took a while before we actually found them outside of the Mall, facing the sea. Ok la quite romantic.

And yay! We are the first group, record time of 6pm. Completed the whole course in 2hrs. Wahahaha. Ya our group rocks la, with the very daring Kia Meng and the very smart Wee Liang and fast runners Chun Yuan and Da Xian, Jessalynn like forever chasing behind us.. hahaha, ya poor treasurer.. but at least our efforts paid off, and oh ya! Up to now then I realised, at the start of the game, every group is given a piece of Egg Tofu. We are supposed to keep it intact throughout the whole game if not there will be a forfeit if we broke it into half or even more pieces. We put ours in Kiam's water bottle, smart right? though we dropped the water bottle a few times, the tofu remains quite intact.. and KiaM remembered not to drink from the water bottle when he is thirsty. Haha, imagine if he actually drink it out of instinct.. lol

We waited with the Welfare members (yumin and yingchern) for like 30mins there before the next group arrives at 630. haha, we rock la :P

After some more groups arrived, we set off first to Jessalynn's house. It is only then I realised, my house is 10minutes walking distance to her house.

Her house is VERY spacious, UBER nice, FREAKING grand, JAW-DROPPING cozy.. haha, ya very big lor. i think everyone can stayover at her house without any problems. Her house is like a bungalow lor.. 4 storey high, and her toilets are like all bigger than my house's bedroom, where my brother, mother and I sleep together. Ya its like a dream house.. haha, hard to describe without a picture.. =/ but it is just not very nice to start taking photos of someone's house, right? Especially the bedrooms.

We ate our dinner there.. with the sumptuous laksa and satay.. Ate the fortune cookies.. and.. haha, simply had fun la.. We got cakes for Da Xian and Wee Liang.. Yup and we officially ended the band orientation with the birthday songs for them.

Walked out to the main road with Kia Meng and See Wah. Everyone is so tired and weary.. but I am sure everyone had their fun moments, there was ups and downs, but everything concluded nicely =)

I still have to walk Jie Han and company to Tiong Bahru plaza.. so they took a taxi home while I accompanied the rest to MRT. Got to know more of the band members.. namely Wei Guo and the other confusing name which I forgot again! Ahh.. and wei yang too.. sent them off and returned home at abt 11

Ya tiring day, but I am glad that I did not miss this year's orientation, I think i will miss it in the future.. once in a lifetime experience that is not going to happen again, the same people, the same feeling.

How I wish, when I leave this world one day, I can rewind my lifetime, as if I am watching a video for the second time, all the ups and downs of my life, the different cross roads and choices that were made along the way.

I really had much fun yesterday, I hope the rest had as much fun as I had as well. Soon, Feb will also be over, and the time for exco hand over will be near. Time left in JC won't be much, but it is a memory that we have all shared, with your class, with your CCA mates, with your friends that have persevered with you all along. They are the ones who will give you strength, to continue to strive in adversity.

That concludes the events for the past 2 days... About time to settle down for work again. Will blog again soon.. and upload the pictures once I got them.. sorry for this long and.. pictureless post.. =X
